The halibut fish and chips was awesome
I can only say THE BEST FISH & CHIPS ever!!! By far their halibut fish &chips beat the best ones I had before! We tried the grilled halibut sandwich was like nothing we had before! So good! The staff especially Marvel was soooo nice and fun! We had the best time there. Extremely recommend it! Do not miss out! Thank you!!!!
I like fish and chips almost as much as I like tacos. The Sandbar has some of the best fish and chips I have had. I got the medium size and I was full, but we loved them so much, we got an extra order to split between us. They were so good, I forgot to take a picture of my basket before I finished! If you love halibut and are looking for a place off the beat and path, go here!
Love this place. Yes it's kind of a dive bar, but really nice staff, 2 pool tables and shuffle board. The fish and chips were excellent, fresh fish and $15 less than downtown for more fish. Thank you.
When we arrived in Juneau we checked in with a local and this was the place she recommended! My husband had the Halibut Fish & Chips (medium) and I ordered the Halibut Fish tacos. They were both incredible! We actually ended up going three days in a row because the halibut was the best we had ever had. I also really enjoyed the fried zucchini. The second day I subbed the zucchini for the fries and really enjoyed it more than the fries. The staff was friendly and we got to meet some locals and have a lot of good conversations while we visited. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Juneau. It was hands down the best food we ate during our visit.
The absolute greatest halibut you will ever eat (juicy, tender, meaty, everything) and that's not all - their fries are killer. I visited a friend of mine for a few days. This was the first and last place I ate at and I ordered the fish and chips (halibut) both times. Staff is cool, typical pool table/bar with a restaurant if you dont like the bar. Whatever you do in Juneau, you must come here and get the fish and chips.
Best ever fish and chips I've tasted! My aunties took us there for lunch in 2024. I would seek it out again if I get the chance to go back to Juneau.
We were recommended to this place by a few locals. The fish and chips and cheese curds were all delicious. It was sort of a hole in the wall but we were impressed with the service and the food. We would definitely go back!
This is the best halibut you will ever eat. It was so delicious! My husband and I split one large basket. It was more than enough food.
